Short Biography

Michel Venne est directeur général et fondateur de l’Institut du Nouveau Monde. Michel Venne est fellow de l’organisation internationale Ashoka, un réseau de 2500 innovateurs sociaux à l’échelle mondiale. En 2007, il a été nommé par le gouvernement du Québec vice-président du Groupe de travail (Castonguay) sur le financement du système de santé. Journaliste il a occupé au quotidien Le Devoir, de Montréal, de 1990 à 2006, les fonctions de correspondant parlementaire à l’Assemblée nationale, éditorialiste, directeur de l’information puis chroniqueur. Il est l’auteur de plusieurs ouvrages notamment Souverainistes, que faire? et Les Porteurs de liberté et dirigé plusieurs ouvrages collectifs dont 100 idées citoyennes pour un Québec en santé ; Justice, démocratie et prospérité – L’avenir du modèle québécois ; et Penser la nation québécoise.
